Detroit-area residents with older and historic homes will be afforded the unique opportunity to participate in one-stop shopping with home restoration/preservation specialists. These pre-screened professionals with knowledge and experience of the needs of historic homes will exhibit at the 15th Home Preservation Fair presented by the Historic Boston- Edison Association.
Home preservation specialists targeted for this event will have skills that include:
Brick/Masonry repair and restoration
Electrical upgrades and updating
Painting of both exteriors and interiors
Plumbing, heating, and cooling service
Wet plaster repair and replacement
Window repair and restoration
Wood floor refinishing
Representatives from various area preservation advocacy organizations will be on hand to answer questions about planned work projects to be performed on your home. Additionally, representatives of banks and lending institutions will be on hand to discuss low interest home improvement loans, lines of credit, home equity loans and mortgage refinancing.
The 2018 Home Preservation Fair will be held in the gymnasium of the historic Sacred Heart Major Seminary, 2701 Chicago Boulevard at Linwood in Detroit. Free parking is provided via the Linwood entrance. The Fair runs from 12 Noon — 5 PM.
The Fair is free and open to the public. A registration fee is required for home restoration/preservation specialists. In addition to the exhibiting contractors, informational workshops will be presented.
