On May 1, 1918, Prohibition went into effect in Michigan. As the death of John Barleycorn loomed, saloons and bars all over the city held funerals and wakes for King Booze and his pals. Join Prohibition Detroit and Detroit City Distillery as we recreate that saddest of occasions on Saturday, April 28th.

All mourners will receive a complimentary drink and a special limited edition mourning armband for the evening. Food and drink specials will be available for purchase. And stick around until midnight, when we'll play Taps for old John Barleycorn and reveal a password-only speakeasy cocktail.

Tickets $15 in advance or at the door.
