We're kicking off our 90th season with Neil Simon’s first Broadway comedy smash, which premiered in 1961! Alan Baker, a 30-ish swinging bachelor with time, money and women to spare, welcomes his rebellious and eager 21-year-old brother Buddy into his den of iniquity in Manhattan. Before long, Buddy outshines Alan in wooing women and mastering the liquor cabinet. Meanwhile, their horrified parents can only watch the two boys, and pray.

Alan Baker – (33) Handsome, bright, charming, and a bit of a playboy, Alan just is not satisfied with taking over the family business. He thinks he wants more out of life than just the same old routine, but when faced making the decision to go his own way, he begins to rethink everything he thought he wanted.
Buddy Baker – (21) Reserved, shy, unsure, and sweet, Buddy is the exact opposite of his big brother. Also unsatisfied with working in the family business, but unsure of how to break it to his parents, Buddy looks to Alan for guidance, and finds they may just be more alike than he thought.
Mr. Baker (Father) – (50–60) Mr. Baker is proud of his booming wax fruit business, and increasingly exasperated by his “bum” of a son, Alan, who can’t seem to do anything right (like get married, have children, and show up to work before 11 AM). When Mr. Baker finds out that Buddy is following in Alan’s footsteps, he’s ready to throw them both out on the street.
Mrs. Baker (Mother) – (50–60) Stereotypical 1960s housewife. Mrs. Baker is easily overwhelmed and upset by both of her son’s decisions to defy their father.
Peggy Evans – (22) Beautiful, rich, and a bit naïve, Peggy has her heart set on becoming a movie star. She’s willing to do anything to make it big.
Connie Dayton – (24) Lovely young actress who performs in traveling shows. Connie is ready to give up the not-so-glamorous touring life and settle down with Alan. When she realizes he doesn’t seem to be as ready, she gives him a taste of his own playboy medicine.
Female Visitor – (50–60) Perfect role for a veteran actress who wants one line (final line of the show) and to not have to show up until tech week for rehearsals!
