How did David Lynch become David Lynch? In the vivid documentary «David Lynch: The Art Life,» the artist and filmmaker reveals the experiences, insights, memories and obsessions that forged his imagination—from his birth in Missoula, Montana in 1946, to the 1977 release of his first masterpiece, “Eraserhead"—by way of personal interviews recorded over three years. Lynch has never stopped creating, whether it be paintings and sculptures, feature films or the upcoming return of “Twin Peaks.” The DIA's Detroit Film Theatre presents three screenings of the film:
